The Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge #10

What:

Day ten of the second Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge. And this will also be my entry for Gerda Steiner’s monthly challenge; it may not be my only entry as she was kind enough to provide two digital stamps to play with…

How:

I printed the bunny out onto lightweight watercolour paper and coloured it using Supracolor watercolour pencils. Then I used a barely damp brush to blend the colours, leaving some texture.

I used a landscape die to make masks for creating the background, which was done by blending two shades of blue Distress ink for the sky and two shades of green for the grass. The tree was stamped in place and Distress ink shadows added beneath the tree and where the bunny would be positioned. Some scattered leaves were stamped to break up the large area of green.

I stamped the sentiment, being very careful to get it straight (the appeal of a MISTI grows each time I have to stamp sentiments, I just can’t face the import costs). The last thing to do was to mount the bunny on foam pads and stick the whole panel to a card base.

Lessons Learned:

It takes a lot less moisture than you’d think to blend out Supracolor pencils.
