The Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge #6

What:

Day six of the second Daily Marker 30 day colouring challenge. My mini robot stamp set turned up this morning so I could finish off the birthday card I originally had in mind when I started working on the blueprint stamps.

How:

I watercoloured the balloon with Distress ink, fussy cut it out and used glossy accents on the highlight. Then I cut the red paper layer to size and trimmed down the watercolour cardstock and the buckram and die cut the curved dividing line. I stamped and watercoloured the mini robot and used an ink blending tool to colour the edges of the two-tone panel.

I assembled the card by gluing the two base panels to the card base, mounting the balloon on the card using foam pads, tying a silver string to the balloon and fixing it to the robot’s hand with some multi-medium matte.

Lessons Learned:

Be careful trying to die cut overlapping pieces of card as the edges will inevitably emboss just where you don’t want them to.
